Hack The Box, the leading gamified cybersecurity upskilling, certification, and talent assessment platform, has secured a place on the Best Workplaces in Europe™ 2023, ranking 7th in the category “50-499 Employees”.

This award follows the company’s recent achievements, including its recognition as the 4th Best Workplace in Greece and the appointment as the UK’s 3rd Best Startup in the Startups 100 Index 2023. Such achievements are a testament to Hack The Box’s  dedication to building a supportive work environment based on mutual respect and autonomy.

But what are those attributes that have been key to such achievements up until now? Starting in 2017 from a team of three consisting of the co-founders, today Hack The Box counts over 240 employees working from more than 20 countries worldwide, including its headquarters in the UK and additional offices in Greece and the US.

Since launch, Hack The Box is on a mission to create and connect cyber-ready humans and organizations through highly engaging hacking experiences that cultivate out-of-the-box thinking. This mission sits alongside a unique company culture where everyone finds purpose in to unleash their best selves.

Our mission would be just hollow words without enabling our people to drive and grow it. After all, behind our 2.2m platform members, every line of code written, every customer interaction, and every component of our culture, is our employees. That said, such recognitions as the Best Workplaces in Europe™ are coming from them and are dedicated to them”, said Haris Pylarinos, Founder and CEO at Hack The Box.

Along with crafting a product that redefines the standards of cybersecurity expertise, we continually invest in numerous employee initiatives, some of which are as follows:

  • Flexible working scheme including unlimited remote working opportunities and a 4-day working week in August along with online well-being activities to ensure a more balanced and harmonious work-life experience for our employees.

  • Annual training budget, despite the employees’ level, to acquire new skills and improve existing ones.

  • Quarterly All Hands Meetings and monthly lighting talks serve as a platform for sharing important information, celebrating successes, and increasing engagement.

  • Annual global retreats and team events to let  employees interact in a non-work-related setting and create stronger relationships.
