Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Miltenberger currently serves as the first Commanding Officer of the 2003 Cyber Protection Team (CPT) in Alameda, California. He’s responsible for protecting the nation’s Marine Transportation System in cyberspace by conducting hunt, assess, and incident response operations in addition to conducting cyber assessment missions to secure Coast Guard cyber terrain. Adding to his accolades, he founded CGCYBER’s Red Team, founded CGCYBER’s educational phishing capability, led Cyber Opposing Forces for a major multinational exercise, and oversaw over 100 Red and Blue Team missions during his tour. LCDR Miltenberger is a 2012 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with High Honors. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland College Park.
Dan Magnotta is an accomplished professional in cybersecurity and intelligence operations with more than a decade of experience in the military and private sectors. His career began with dedicated service to the U.S Department of Defense, where he played critical roles in the U.S. European Command and U.S. Special Operations Command Europe, contributing significantly to cutting-edge cyber strategies. In addition to his civilian role, he serves as an LCDR in the U.S. Navy Reserve, showcasing his leadership and dedication as an Executive Officer for a Navy Reserve Unit. His expertise in cybersecurity, operational analysis, and strategic planning is extensive. At Hack The Box, he tailors solutions to meet the unique requirements of government agencies and organizations worldwide, leveraging his deep understanding of both military and civilian cybersecurity needs.
Across his storied career, Clayton Jones has earned a reputation as a global cybersecurity thought leader after serving in senior government roles across Asia and Europe and as CTO for a private-industry technology and SaaS-solutions firm. He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer for Aperio Global, a nationally recognized, award-winning IT services provider focused on enterprise cyber defense and cloud-based software solutions. Prior to his private sector work, he was a Senior Advisor of Cyberspace Operations Lead for the United States European Command (USEUCOM) – Joint Cyber Center (JCC) in Germany. In this role, he drove all aspects of military cyber operations and investments across 51 countries throughout the region, led a high-level team of specialized subject matter experts, and managed operations worth tens of millions of dollars annually. He also regularly advised top U.S. leaders on matters related to cyber defense strategies, initiatives, policies, and developments.
Ryan Whicher has more than 14 years of experience in the intelligence analysis and cybersecurity domain. Before stepping in to his current role of Vice President, Intelligence Analysis and Senior Pentester at 8bit, a company recognized for their ability to support full-lifecycle software development and many other end-to-end cybersecurity services, he worked as a Network Exploitation Analyst at Federal Data Systems. Prior to this, he worked as an Analyst at ThreatConnect, Inc. as well as CGI and Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. as a Consultant and an Intelligence Analyst, respectively.
